Speaking to Count Harlow after the Rescue of the Princess (Saturday Late Night)
Harlow business
There will be an investigation of some ruins beneath House Harlow
These are older than Argost and Harlow in origin
Likely next gather
Rituals - Our Cup Runneth Dry
We have noticed that rituals appear to be less powerful or straight up not work this day
Count Harlow believes that this is because, with all the magic that has been performed in the area (including by him) in order to find and rescue the princess, we have depleted the magic in the area
We must wait for it to trickle back in
Concerns about Scrying
We asked about setting up an area of the tavern to be safe from scrying
Count Harlow said scrying skills are extremely rare - only witches
He does not believe the Red dragon has this ability
Knights of Chaos
Disbanded by the king ~175 years ago
Disbanded in response to a prophecy
There are allegations that the prophecy was maliciously interpreted in order to incite this disbandment, however Count Harlow does not believe these allegations
There are questions about whether knights were stripped of their titles or were simply not allowed to create any new knights of chaos, and I didn’t catch the answer to this - someone else might know
The crown child of the king performs the knighting ceremony for Knights of Argost, so it is very strange that the Oasis Knights seem to believe/be able to perform knighting ceremonies themselves - additional Oasis Knight info (not necessarily from CH):
Arrived in Verlorn ~300 years ago
This is within the time frame that the gate was last open
They were contacted by the Defense Network (I don’t know what this is)
Are they really knights?
The Slither said that someone tried to bring a strange Deva from the desert into their territory (and stop it) and our druids believe that it was these Knights of Chaos who did that
Prince Cassius Keswick
Was stripped of his title after he went through the gate, however he clearly was able to invoke sovereignty over Argost knights - not sure if this is due to him being too powerful to be stripped or if he must be there in person to be stripped
The prince believes he is divine and believes that the support of the High Inquisitor is proof of this
This might be worth discussing with the High Priestess of Dariya
Smythes
Knowledge of them is guarded, though the Lt. Col. knows about them and we can discuss with him freely
The royal line “keeps them in check”
Smyths were recruited to Argost within a few years of the founding
Believes that the Smyths wanted to act to rescue the princess but could not; he is not sure why they could not
Red Dragon
Count Harlow has set up wards against spells and illusions around the castle and for the guards, so royal family should be safe at home
Something something festival, trade deals, might be a good time to catch Red
